- June 2011 – Jades creativity moves in to imaginative play, using clay as food which she goes through the proccess of pretending to cook, then serve.
- Revisiting using the clay in an imaginative way as food, she cuts up and rolls the clay then places it in bowls.
- Exploring the paint as a creative media.
- Using the dress ups to enhance her creative pretend play as she takes on the role of a mummy pushing a baby in the pram.
- Investigation of the purple water in the messy play trough turns more purposeful as Jade uses the water to bath the dolly she has been recently using in her mummy role play.
- July 2011 – Jade exlores the use of sellotaope in a collage picture she is creating.
- Jade creates images (circular) using felt and paper.
- Jade explores cutting and then gluing cut pieces of paper as a creative medium.
- Jade observes peers using blocks to make roads for toy vehicles, Jade models this idea in her creative use of the blocks too, arranging vertical and horizontal rows.
- Once the blocks are arranged Jade pushes a toy vehicle along her block structure.
- Exploring the use of mobilo as a creative medium alongside a teacher, Jade connects pieces of mobilo together then ainforms the teacher that it is a car.
- Engaging in pretend play, Jade chooses a costume to wear before finding a dolly to push along in a pram.
- Jade pretends to be a mummy looking after a baby,
- Jade use her imagination to role play changing the babys nappy.

Notice – Jade explores messy play and tactile activities. Her exploration of these activities is broadening in to the exploration of paint and clay which she is beginning to use in a more purposeful manner than just as a sensory/exploratory exercise.
Recognize – moving from tactile messy play to exploration of messy media to use with a creative purpose in mind.
Respond – provide Jade with substances/media that she can use to create with. Introduce Jade to art and craft techniques she can use to enhance her ability to express herself creatively (may include dramatic play and music as well as art and craft).
